This solid Meranti timber door frame is designed for standard 813mm door openings and is suitable for both interior and exterior applications. With a 44 × 70mm frame section, it provides a sturdy, well-proportioned profile that accommodates standard wall thicknesses and accepts most door hardware. Supplied unassembled for easy transport and on-site fitting.

Meranti is a dense, stable hardwood widely used in South African door and window joinery. Its tight grain and natural oils make it resistant to decay and moisture, and its smooth surface takes paint and sealant evenly for a clean, professional finish.

Installation Notes

Ensure your rough opening is at least 880mm wide × 2064mm high to accommodate the external frame dimensions. Use treated timber packers to plumb and level the frame before fixing. Prime and seal all surfaces — including end grain and the bottom of the jambs — before or immediately after installation to prevent moisture ingress and warping. For exterior installations, apply a quality exterior-grade primer and topcoat to all exposed surfaces.
