Does this smart lock come with a remote?
No — a remote is not included. The BBL Smart Deadbolt is operated via fingerprint, PIN, RFID tag, Bluetooth, or mechanical key. If you require remote (WiFi) access, an optional gateway is available separately. A compatible smart remote is also available separately at doorsdirect.co.za/products/smart-remote.
Does it come with RFID tags?
Yes — the lock includes 2 RFID tags. Additional RFID tags can be programmed up to a maximum of 200 users.
Do I need WiFi to use this lock?
No — the lock operates fully via fingerprint, PIN, RFID, Bluetooth, and mechanical key without WiFi. WiFi remote access (e.g. unlocking from outside your home network) requires an optional gateway, sold separately.
Is this lock suitable for exterior doors?
Yes — the BBL Smart Deadbolt has an IP55 waterproof rating, making it suitable for covered or sheltered exterior door installations. It is not recommended for fully exposed, unprotected outdoor environments.
What happens if the battery dies?
The lock has a USB emergency power port — you can connect a power bank to the port to temporarily power the lock and gain entry. A mechanical key backup is also included for emergencies.
Can I track who has accessed the door?
Yes — the lock's software records all user activations, giving you a log of who accessed the door and when.
