The BD51/G is a tall solid Meranti timber small-pane window with a single side-opening casement above a fixed sub-light section. The integrated exposed steel burglar guard is fitted to the opening casement. Available in left or right hand opening configuration. Supplied without glass.

What is the burglar guard made of and how is it fitted?

The burglar guard consists of 10mm square mild steel bars with a decorative twist on the vertical bars. The bars are drilled into the Meranti frame at the top, bottom and sides — the frame is pre-drilled and assembled around the guard during manufacture. The guard is permanently fixed to the frame and remains in place when the window is opened.

Does the burglar guard cover the sub-light section?

No. The sub-light section below the opening casement is fixed and unguarded — it is secured by the fixed frame. The burglar guard is fitted to the opening casement only.

Can I specify left or right hand opening?

Yes. The BD51/G is available in left or right hand opening configuration. Please specify your preference on this product page when ordering.
