About Okoume (Commercial) Veneer
Okoume (Aucoumea klaineana) is a West African hardwood species widely used as a commercial door veneer in South Africa. It has a uniform, fine-grained surface with a pale pinkish-brown tone that accepts paint evenly and consistently — making it the standard choice for painted interior doors in commercial and institutional environments. It is sometimes referred to simply as “Commercial veneer” in the South African trade.
What Are Exposed Edges?
Exposed edges means the door leaf is supplied without a solid timber lipping on the long edges. The chipcore is visible at the edges.
